THE ADVENTURE

Join us for an extraordinary experience documenting the endangered Southern Right Whales off the coast of the Peninsula Valdes, Argentina.

HOWEVER…

While all our expeditions are open to all wildlife enthusiasts, this experience is NOT.

We are only allowed to bring professional photographers and videographers with us.

The Southern Right Whale is on the endangered list, but is recovering well due to the conservation efforts of the Argentina Government.

So the area we are visiting is highly restricted.

This is a very special animal… the locals and the government work hard to continue protecting their whales here.

and we get it!

After spending time with these whales, we know why it is so protected.

Time spent with right whales is one of the greatest experiences in the world.

TRIP COST IS $7980 PER PERSON.

With a $1500 Deposit Required to Reserve Your Spot

PRICE INCLUDES;

  • Hotel Accommodation: 7-night stay in a seaside hotel, Double Occupancy.

  • Right Whales: 5 full days of whale watching and the incredible opportunity to swim with and document right whales.

  • Wildlife Exploration Day: Embark on an adventure through Peninsula Valdes. We spend one day seeking out wildlife on land, and a visit to Whale Beach (It is an Epic Spot!).

  • Meals: Daily continental breakfast at the hotel. Additionally, lunch onboard our boat during the whale watching excursions.

  • Government Permits: These permits allow us access to swim with the right whales.

  • Expert Photo Guide: Photo coaching and guidance from our experienced professionals throughout the journey.

Add $1,200 for single room occupancy.

2023 TRIP REPORT

TRIP ITINERARY

Day One - Travel Day.
10AM Pick up from Trelew. We pick you up in the early morning from the airport, or your hotel, and take to you to your hotel. Its a two hour drive to get there. After you check in, you can prep gear, relax and check out the town.

Day Two - Six (5 Days).
We will spend the next five days (weather dependent) searching for right whales to swim with. Everyday is different and we never know what to expect. Somedays the whales may feel like interacting, other days they may not. It is entirely up to the animals.

Day Seven. Wildlife Day.
Today we will jump in a private van and explore the Peninsula Valdes and seek out the variety of creatures that call it home.

There are so many different places to search for wildlife here. Wildlife we will be seeking out; Elephant seals, sea lions, flamingos, foxes, maras, guanacos.

The highlight of our day awaits at Whale Beach. Here, you'll witness a breathtaking spectacle as dozens of right whales play right along the shoreline. It's a sight that's nothing short of awe-inspiring, and we can't wait to share this unforgettable experience with you.

Day Eight. Travel Day.
We depart for the Trelew airport. 9AM departure. It is a two hour drive back to Trelew.

Please make your return flights for after 1PM.

PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICY 

  • A non-refundable deposit of $800 USD is required to reserve a space on SDM adventures.


    50% of the expedition cost (balance) is due 180 days prior to departure.


    100% of the expedition cost (balance) is due 90 days prior to departure.


    A 4% surcharge is applied to payments made via credit card.


    A 3% paypal surcharge is applied to payments made using paypal.


    Payments can also be made via wire transfer. Just let us know and we will send you the bank transfer info. 
Please add $40 to cover bank fees.

  • All cancellations made more than 120 days prior to departure will receive refund (less an administrative fee of $800 USD per person). This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. However, if we manage to fill the trip after you cancel, we will apply the deposit towards any of our trips that you sign up for, during the following 12 months. If you cancel again during that period, you will lose the deposit.


    Cancellations made (91 to 120), calendar days prior to departure, are assessed a cancellation fee of 50% of the entire trip price, (including extensions).


    Cancellations made within 90 days of departure date will not be refunded, therefore we strongly recommend all guest purchase travel insurance.


    All cancellations must be made in writing by mail or by email to sdm@sharkdivermag.com, - received and acknowledged by SDM Adventures.


    We are not responsible for cancellations due to medical or other reasons.


    No fees will be refunded if you withdraw after an expedition begins.


    We are not responsible for any fees associated with non-refundable air travel, we highly recommend the purchase of travel insurance.

  • Solo Travelers signing up for land-based trips individually will be charged the single occupancy rate.

    To help keep costs down, you have the option to inform us if you would like to share a room with another solo guest of the same sex.

    We'll make every effort to find you a roommate. However, if no one else wishes to share, you will be charged for a single room.
